Prerequisites and Setup

Using SyPy requires a number of elements for the programmer and for the actual run-time environment.

On the machine to be used with SyPy, you need:

A SynthEyes installation and license

A Python installation of a compatible Python version of your choice, generally 2.7 or

3.x. (Python is open source)

Generally, the Python user-interface module of your choice, such as PySide, PyQT, etc

For 2.7 (or 2.6), you should use SyPy as described here. For Python 3, use the SyPy3 library which is also included in SynthEyes. t's externally the same except you must reference SyPy3

variously.

SynthEyes does not include a specific Python installation, it is "bring your own python" so that you can continue to use the version you already use in your studio. See the section "Configuring Python and SynthEyes" below for setup directions.
