Explicitly Adding Separate Alpha
You can select your separate alpha sequence at least five different ways:
the Shot/Add Separate Alpha menu item,
the +Alpha button on the Shot Setup dialog,
the +Alpha button on the Rez tab of the image preprocessor,
the .alphaName attribute of a shot in Sizzle or Python, or via
the "alpha file" attribute of the camera in Synthia.
You should generally select the first file in the alpha sequence (read on for movies).
To remove an explicitly-added sequence, open the add-alpha dialog via the menu item or +Alpha button, then Cancel the dialog. You will be asked if you want to remove the sequence; answer Yes to remove it, or No to leave it unchanged.
Note that changing the separate alpha file will always cause a flush of the shot's
cache.
